Take a look at what our clients and their families say about their experience at Venture.

More than 5 out of 5 stars!

The team at VDC have treated my adult son with the care and respect he deserves.

My son has attended other services locally and has not really fitted in (due to different factors), but VDC have welcomed my son and have adapted their regular format of care to suit my son’s needs – they have gone above and beyond!!!

Thoroughly recommend. I don’t know what I would do without their help to be honest.

My son also loves the days he gets to spend time out and about with VDC.

Defo more than 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️

Venture is the highlight of Ellie’s week!

Ellie has been coming to Venture for a couple of months and it’s the highlight of her week.

Coming to Venture has done wonders for Ellies confidence and made her feel good about herself (thanks to Stevie and her hair and makeup pampering sessions & the keep fit and Yoga with Jonathan & Stevie).

Ellie has made some delicious meals which she has cooked for us at home, been Christmas shopping and a trip to the Trafford Centre.

Nothing is too much trouble for Jonathan & Stevie and I know Ellie is in safe hands and after Venture, she always has a smile on her face.

Thanks Jonathan and Stevie, from a happy mum, I can’t recommend you enough!

New Year, New Start for Tom

Tom enjoys volunteering at the local hospital and TomTag work, but he was keen to find somewhere he could meet peers and continue building his social and conversation skills. Like most parents of an autistic or special needs young adult I know how hard it is to find suitable groups and activities.

Tom’s support worker recommended Venture Disability Care a new Health and Wellbeing service for people aged 18 to 35 with mild and moderate learning difficulties and autism, based in Denton, Manchester. Following on from a positive pre-visit last year, Tom agreed to ‘give it a go’.

Yesterday was his first day. A quick check in with his feelings before we set off… “It’s a mixture mum. I’m a bit nervous but also a bit excited!”
A quick check in with my feelings… a familiar knot of worry in my tummy. The knot of worry that comes whenever I leave Tom in a new situation, even though I knew he would be in safe hands.

When I picked him up, he was buzzing! “It’s been amazing mum!” He’d enjoyed all the activities including fitness session, shopping, cooking, and the football chat. I was buzzing too! It’s the best feeling in the world knowing that your child is happy and in a place where he will grow and thrive.

Tom will be talking more about his volunteering and experiences at Venture in the TomTag community group over the next few weeks so come over and join if you’re not already a member.

A Quote from Josh: “I really love it, I have so much fun, even when I get things wrong with the cooking!”

From a parent’s point of view, I can honestly say going to Venture Disability is the highlight of Josh’s week. There are not many things in life that he doesn’t have extreme anxiety about however going here is definitely not one of them. He comes home happy and full of what he’s been doing that day.

Jonathan and Stevie totally understand Josh and his needs. They support him to try new things with encouragement and humour. Moving into adulthood was a confusing and stressful process for Josh. Venture Disability has made that transition a whole lot easier for him (and his parents!) and is helping him develop invaluable life skills along the way.
